MALA NOCHE/WALT CURTIS

A friend's thoughts on this film:

We shall have to cover Mala Noche- I
cannot watch it again or I will drown in
my own ejaculate! The irony of street
hos reinforcing Neo-Platonism w a
uniquely American 1950s romantic
Existentialism... def saw the roots of Idaho
and stuff Ang Lee swiped for BB Mtn.
Luv the black and white
that can even
make migrants look sexy...
I say that w love! Van Sant digs into my
consciousness on screen like Sondheim
does in music- something about the
WSS ethos... lonely, longing, angry outsiders

lost in silent, less musical shadows...

*pay special attention to what Curtis has to say
in several snippets about the destructive nature of
the endless cycles of American Puritanism and his
choice of the Humansexual~~
