CINE-FORUM TORONTO
1) Reg Hartt's Cine-forum, 463 Bathurst St - Reg Hartt is a Toronto force of nature who screens art films in his living room. He delivers fabulous (and all too inspiring) lectures about how everyone should drop out of school and experiment with LSD and sex before his Salvador Dali triple bills. If you are with some wimp from Etobicoke who doesn't understand art and freaks out because Reg's "movie theatre" is just a bunch of lawn chairs, then it's best you know now. Nosferatu set to Radiohead's Kid A is too esoteric an experience to be shared with a dweeb...

PHENOMENA
All I can say is that this installment in the brilliant Italian director Dario Argento's filmography has everything... murder, mayhem, mystery, and a monkey! Not to mention picturesque Swiss scenery and ravaging insects and mental illness and girls school terror. Just watch it and then take a few days off to breathe and then watch his others!

THE VIOLET HOUR
This is the violet hour, the hour of hush and wonder, when the affections glow again and valor is reborn, when the shadows deepen magically along the edge of the forest and we believe that, if we watch carefully, at any moment we may see the unicorn.- Bernard DeVoto "The Hour"
