a French 75

The French 75 is a delightful champagne cocktail which first appeared in "The Savoy Cocktail Book" by Harry Craddock in 1930. The drink gets it's name from the 75 millimeter field gun used in the first world war.

The French “75” Cocktail:

2/3 Gin
1/3 Lemon Juice
1 Spoonful Powdered Sugar
Pour into tall glass containing cracked ice and fill up with champagne

“Hits with remarkable precision!”

or

1 shot fine cognac
half shot fresh lemon juice
splosh o simple syrup
ice, shake, pour into martini glass
add champagne/bubbles
garnish w lemon twisty
