The Purest of Treats...

So I read Frank Rich's column in the NYTimes every Sunday to keep me connected to a sane and responsible view of politics... however, today's was something about Sarah Palin. I had to abstain. It made me a little sad to cheat Frank out of a loyal read, but the only person in America less deserving of serious commentary in the nation's finest paper would be Michael Jackson. Ooops- I guess they covered him pretty fully this week too! very sad face... It remains a puzzle to me that the serious citizenry of our country are so acutely fixated upon an ignorant, arrogant political opportunist and an utterly fractured yet self-obsessed child molester for whom the only responsibility appears to be the satisfaction of their own empty egos. In a time when real heroes who actually help and contribute have never been more essential, this bottom feeding is not only lamentable, but gratuitous. Fortunately, a few are still thinking... like Alan in his post below on DC's about Milton. While it is about angels having sex, it is also scholarly and eloquent. Enjoy it along with his fascinating blog below that pulls us out of the shallow moment and back into the stream of
history.
