Shades of Day
The
gradations of dawn brighten
Washing
logic away with obligation
To
make a space for promise.
Sunrise
arrives early, pink-hued-
Blood
orange sprays lit by the sun
Against
a sky awakened
Bright
at midday facing upward
Piercing
ice blue air
Erasing
time while marking it.
I
am the obelisk at noon
And
reflect the eve’s escaping light
Back
to night…
Exchanging
wisdom for delight,
As
the Book of Dreams falls closed.
